The following case studies highlight recent projects. For all of my projects, I strive to create the most useful, meaningful, and emotionally engaging products, services, and experiences.
Vans Family loyalty program - web, app, in-store
Vans, a global skate apparel and lifestyle brand, needed a loyalty program to capture valuable customer data and convert the data into engaging digital interactions and in-store experiences to deepen customer loyalty and increase sales. The experience design I envisioned and created included website, mobile app, and innovative retail store experiences to engage a wide range of audiences.
kp exam room experience
Kaiser Permanente (KP), one of the West Coast's largest health care providers, embarked on a complete transformation of their digital, physical facility, and service ecosystem. I led the vision and development for a new exam room experience that included a touchscreen display for enhanced patient/care team communications and data sharing.
Aetna.com redesign
When the Affordable Care Act was introduced, it caused major customer engagement paradigm shifts for all the health insurance companies in the U.S. Aetna needed to quickly comply with new legal mandates and open up their health coverage offerings for the general public to purchase. I led the UX and creative design for the new aetna.com experience and other major digital properties under the Aetna umbrella.
MTv.com redesign
I was the lead Information Architect on MTV.com's redesign team and worked collaboratively with my cross-functional teammates to create an innovative MTV.com experience that seamlessly combined continuous video playback with fluid content browsing and consumption. I also created the complete UX/UI for MTV's first digital Broadband video player, Overdrive.
Museum exhibits
I worked with the team at ESI Design on a two-year project to re-imagine the NASA Kennedy Space Center Museum visitor experience. I was responsible for designing interactive exhibits that brought NASA's futuristic Lunar Base concepts and Mars Rover missions to life via 3D networked simulation games. I was also responsible for designing interactive exhibits and activities for the children's wing.
As an executive producer for Vtech Educational Toys, I led multi-disciplinary teams across Asia, Europe, and North America to produce interactive toys for children ages 5 and up. I conceptualized the hardware and software designs for Video Painter, a digital tablet that is connected to televisions for children to draw and learn about art and animation. I also led the game design and development for Voyager, an interactive audio and visual storybook with a touch stylus for children to immerse themselves in fantastical adventures.
